Say It Ain't So, J.K.

Rowling's transphobic tweets are problematic, to say the least

Popular author J.K. Rowling is under fire this week for anti-trans tweets she's posted, and it turns out that this isn't even new behavior for the Harry Potter creator. Search and it's easy to find multiple incidences where Rowling has demonstrated similar anti-trans values that are heartbreaking for her community, to say the least.

Many fans are calling for an outright boycott. Others are saying to only support indie artists who use Potter themes and to not buy anything that might go to Rowling. Some can't even stomach the fandom anymore. This is incredibly sad and as a fan, I'm not sure what to do here. It's often hard for me to separate the artist from the art, and I deeply love the trans and NB people in my life. I don't want to support something that hurts them.

How about you? Will you continue to be a Potter fan? Do you think it works to separate the art from the artist?
