Size doesn't matter, right? To be clear, I'm talking about exactly what you think I'm talking about- the man's penis and sexual intercourse with a woman- specifically as it relates to my absolute favorite topic (as a woman), the female orgasm. I am not, however, going to give you my personal opinions on the subject today- a girl has to have her secrets, but I will tell you about a study you may not have heard about yet.
The background?
Masters and Johnson (who are actually serious researchers) performed a study a while back that determined that "any size penis penis will fit and provide adequate sexual stimulation to the female".
The "new" researchers (this study is from 2001, but still relevant) decided to do a study of a little more specific nature- length vs. width. The study gets pretty funny here- the "researchers" chose 50 sexually active co-eds who "considered by the two males to be sexually active, based on the males' prior social experience and knowledge of the females."
The researchers then personally called each of the 50 supposedly sexually active females (did they get their names from a fraternity brother's black book?) and asked them which felt better.
According to the study: of the 50, 45 said width felt better- 5 said length felt better, and some apparently volunteered that, "sex in a relationship was better than sex without commitment." (which seems a little apropos of nothing, but since the researchers knew their interviewees, maybe some of them had personal motivations for their comments).
I'm really curious to know others opinions on this study. You can read the whole thing here. Unfortunately, the study didn't get into specific details of the width required to better satisfy a woman, but did speculate a little more about the reasons for their results.
