Hey,
I have been in the sports arena for my whole life, and was ranked in the top 15 in the nation for my sport. Since I was 13 years old, I was privately trained by one fairly-well known personal trainer/scientist/editor, andwe discussed this topic together at length.
You have to look at it in the view of business. If men could wear something to catch attention while they are playing football and it looked ridiculous, there would be a toss-up as to if the change in apparel would bring upset that would charge or flatten revenues to attention for football. But sexy outfits are not see as ridiculous nor foolish, but rather perversely Absurd. If you look at this objectively, this is actually clever. Of course it hampers progress to sexism in the way that idiotic men and southern women (I have lived in the South my whole life) will stop to analyzing the profit-boosting benefits of athletics pairing with lingerie in women's athletics and chalk it up to objectifying the women themselves for wearing the outfits, as if the women "do not respect" themselves (even though they are not in robes with their head covered (aka, shamed for their body, they are nearly naked while being active, if that doesn't spell confidence, I don't know what does)
If I did not have my extensive background in sports, I have not played football but have played 16-20 different sports, then I would frankly agree with you without a blink of an eye. But I actually find this as beneficial usage of sexism, whereas men have revenue in their muscularity, women have revenue in their athleticism, and wear outfits to show that strength. Whereas men show manhood while playing sports, women shoukd feel able to wear whatever the f** they want to show their womanhood while playing sports-The two are entirely separate entities and should not be compared for that reason. I do not find this entire topic as sexist, but I feel that those who do not understand MAKE this topic sexist.

This seems to be an interesting sport. I, myself, would never be caught dead watching it. Why are the women wearing lingerie? I understand that it is real hard-hitting football so why no pads and protective clothing? Well I don't think this will ever make it to ESPN and if it does, I will definately be surprised!
